Phones and Google Nexus Products

I've been a fan of Android for quite a few years, well, pretty much every since starting to develop for them during my degree.

So which device do I go for?

I've had about 5 android devices now;
Motorola Dext
Google Nexus S
Motorola Xoom
Nexus 7
Motorola Razr Maxx

The last is my current phone and I had a large debate over.
Basically: Razr Maxx or the Galaxy Nexus.

Without going into to much detail - after being vey happy with my Nexus S for nearly two years and for which the updates have been always on time with very little hanging around. But it has started to hang slightly with Jelly Bean (when whole idea of Jelly Bean was to be smooth). So I thought Nexus Galaxy!!

What stopped me? A breakage. My Nexus 7 broke from the smallest of falls (24cm's to be pecise).

Now I know the common reply is "its not the height, it's the way it feel and how the impact translated into the tablet" - but due to my line of work - I need durable gadgets. From what I could tell the Nexus 7 was.

Now, my Motorola products have gone through hell and come out with many a dent or Mark as a battle scar, but never broke. My Nexus S needed replacing the first time I took it to sea and the Nexus 7 didn't even make it to sea.

While I love the Nexus brand and getting android phones straight from Google. I need that durability, so even though (outside the US) their update procedures are rubbish - I think I'm sticking with Motorola.
